about

Five-song extended play (EP) release from the long-time surf rockers, The Turbosonics. The all-original release features five well-crafted surf tunes, ranging from upbeat rockers to chill-out vibes. At 20-minutes long it's a perfect accompaniment to a morning commute, or your pregame before a night on the town. Liner notes provided to help you connect to our inspiration:

Bedrock Stomp is a tribute to 1960s Surfer Stomps, which were dances for teenagers in Southern California. The Stomps were often headlined by Dick Dale, who pioneered the loud guitar and surf beat rhythms. This song also employs a fuzzy-gritty guitar influenced by the likes of Davie Allan, the American guitarist best known for his work on soundtracks to various teen and biker movies in the 1960s.

Sex Tajine was inspired by the Moroccan earthenware cooking pot, the Tajine. The verse features a bouncing surf-60's inspired guitar riff, over a traditional surf beat. The bridge section includes a sultry, snake-charming melody, for cooking up a hot dish... like James Brown said, "stay on the scene (get on up) like a Sex Tajine!"

The Scimitar Bazaar is an imaginary marketplace bustling with an eclectic mix of shady vendors, scents of patchouli and sandalwood, vibrant colors, fresh caught fish, and exotic silks.

Godzilla returns to take his revenge on an unsuspecting Japanese village. Men, women and children scramble to take cover for fear of being burnt to a crisp from bolts of lightening breath. (Inspired by surf-mayhem greats, Daikaiju)

The start of a new day brings a golden sunrise, and inspires us to continue our quest for the endless summer. This tune is a musical journey through varying rhythms, patterns, and melodies - all coated in that dripping wet reverb, which classic surf music is known for. Choose your ride and join the Turbosonics as they Journey to the Center of the Sun.
